NCEP in the NEWS: INSIGHTS SCHOOLS
INSIGHTS SCHOOLS JOINS NATIONAL COUNCIL OF EDUCATION PROVIDERS
On-line education provider becomes seventh member of advocacy group(Washington, DC, April 21, 1008) - The National Council of Education Providers (NCEP) today announced that Insights Schools has joined the council.
"Insight Schools brings positive energy to our alliance,” said J.C. Huizenga, chairman of NCEP and founder of National Heritage Academies. "Keith Oelrich [founder of Insight Schools] has been both innovative and successful in advancing virtual education as a valuable avenue of learning for children in communities around the country. His efforts have provided leadership in the education reform movement.”
NCEP, founded in 2003, is an advocate for equity, opportunity, innovation and performance in K-12 education. Its seven member companies - which serve more than 162,000 students across 30 states and the District of Columbia - provide high quality education opportunities and curriculum for families in the communities served by their schools.
Insight Schools is an Internet-based education-services provider that partners with local school districts and other community organizations to build and operate complete, full-time, on-line high schools. Local partners authorize and govern the schools while Insight provides the resources and operational-management expertise needed to establish and run the on-line public high schools.
"Education in American is undergoing a steady, positive transformation that's giving communities new options, greater opportunities and excellent schools,” said Insight's CEO Keith Oelrich. "NCEP is a major force in that transformative process and an important, respected advocate for quality education. I'm happy to be able to lend my voice to their work.”
In addition to Insights Schools, NCEP's members are: Charter Schools USA, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Connections Academy, Baltimore, MD; Edison Schools, Inc., New York, NY; K-12, McLean, VA Mosaica Education, Inc., New York, NY; and National Heritage Academies, Grand Rapids, MI.
